ANDERSON — Anderson Public Library, 111 E. 12th St., will join hundreds of libraries throughout the world on Saturday, Nov. 16, in the annual celebration of International Games Day (IGD). Like so many other libraries across the world, APL will offer free gaming events and activities suitable for the whole family. Gaming is yet another example of how libraries are becoming more than just educational resources for the communities that they serve — they are also places where people of all ages are welcome to learn and have fun together.Visit the library’s third floor from 1 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 16 to participate in a variety of games and activities. Highlights include an Atari 2600, a giant game of Scrabble, a board game library, 8-bit video game crafts and game demonstrations. Door prizes, courtesy of the Friends of the Library and The Danger Room, will be awarded to participants throughout the day’s activities.Registration is not required.
