Veach's Toy Store celebrates 75 years

RICHMOND — Veach's Toy Station in downtown Richmond is celebrating its 75th year in business with a big anniversary bash from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17.

There will be many activities . . . a dance party, a sprinkler party, a bounce house, chalk art, magician, outdoor games, unveiling of the new birthday castle (children are able to choose a special gift from the castle on their birthday) and much more. Free cupcakes and goody bags to the first 500 in attendance. Other unique downtown businesses will also host kids' activities and will have something special to add to the goody bags. A free family movie will be shown in the evening in front of Veach's.

Family-owned and operated since 1938, the old-fashioned, 16,000-square-foot toy store has a huge selection of educational toys for kids of all ages — toys you won't find in big box stores. Here you'll discover Madame Alexander dolls, Lincoln Logs, oversized marionettes, magic kits, heavy-duty construction sets and an entire room devoted to model train merchandise. The shop also boasts a large selection of board games, books and crafts that enable children to be imaginative and creative.
