The Friends of Fort Harrison and the interpretative naturalist staff at Fort Harrison State Park will host the Indiana Master Naturalist Program beginning Thursday, Jan. 10.
Classes will be held each month from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Park Visitor Center.
There are registration plans for the Fort Harrison Master Naturalist Program: Option A — $150, which includes all 12 classes, all course-related materials, IMN state accreditation, a 2013 Annual Park Pass and a 2013 Friends of Fort Harrison State Park membership; or Option B — $10 per class, which includes at all 12 classes, all course-related materials and IMN accreditation.
Participants must complete 10 out of the 12 classes and complete 30 hours of volunteer service time in order to become a certified Indiana master naturalist. Registration deadline is Jan. 10.
The mission of the Indiana Master Naturalist program is to bring together natural resource specialists with adult learners to foster an understanding of Indiana’s plants, water, soils and wildlife, and promote volunteer service.
