Lapel Band to perform benefit concert for Fire Department

LAPEL — The Lapel Community Band, under the direction of John Parshall, will perform a benefit concert for the Lapel Volunteer Fire Department at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, in the Lapel High School auditorium.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students and are available at the concert.

The Lapel Stony Creek Fire Department is working toward building a new fire station. The Lapel Community Band hopes to give back to the community from which it got its start by giving the fundraiser concert.

The program, varied in musical style, features audience favorites including “You Raise Me Up,” a Mancini medley and “Stars and Stripes Forever.”

For more information about the band’s schedule, how to become a patron or sponsor or how to join the band, visit the band’s website at www.lapelcommunityband.com.
