MUNCIE, Ind. —
White River Christian Home Educators’ Senior Drama Troupe will present “I Remember Mama” on Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4.
The curtain will rise at 7 p.m. each evening on the stage of the Muncie Civic Theatre, 216 E. Main St., Muncie.
Based on the fictionalized memoir “Mama’s Bank Account” by Kathryn Forbes, the play follows the joys and trials of the Hanson family, Norwegian immigrants living in San Francisco during the 1910s.
The original play, produced by Rodgers and Hammerstein, first opened on Broadway in 1944 and ran for over 700 performances. It was later produced as a Hollywood feature film in 1948.
Cast members will be selling advance tickets at a discounted price. Tickets at the door will be $7 (students) and $10 (adults).
The play is directed by homeschool moms April Lopez and Tracey Fisher. Cast members include Brenton Adcock, Hayley Bower, Ginny Brueggen, Alyssa Campbell, Emma Campbell, Andy Cox, Kailee Fradenburgh, Emilee Garman, Kaitlyn Garman, Abbie Gernand, Sam Gernand, Anna Grabowski, Ellie Horn, Maddie Leeper, Morgan Leeper, Savannah Lopez, Hannah Spooner, Alex Walker, Emily Walker and Danielle Wihebrink.
The White River Christian Home Educators is a homeschool co-op that meets once a week for parent-led classes in Anderson. Classes are offered for preschool through high school age students.
