Greek’s Pizzeria focuses on food, family and friends

Jeremy Stow and Clay Sexton collaborate on eatery

“Our wives have been best friends since birth,” said Sexton. That friendship drew Stow and Sexton together, each bringing their own talents to the new partnership. Stow’s field is real estate – he owns the Lapel-based business, On Time Appraisal. Sexton brought years of multi-unit restaurant experience to the party.

“We did it because we wanted to,” said Sexton. When they elected to move the location to Martin Luther King Blvd., they thought it through.

“Most people told us we were crazy,” said Sexton. The gamble paid off though. Near I-69 and Flagship, with easy access to Anderson, Lapel and Pendleton, Sexton pointed out, “It’s kind of a hidden gem.” In making the move, staffing jumped from 15 to more than 30 to accommodate the growing clientele.

Family’s the name of the game for the business partners, who are very engaged as parents themselves. Don’t be surprised if you spot Sexton or Stow surrounded by kids and parents from a son’s football team, enjoying some Greek's pizza.

“I like things like that – celebrating my kid’s football game,” said Sexton. The partners also embrace their staff as part of the family.

“It’s family owned and operated. Our staff is our family. We’re a very close group of people,” said Sexton.

Cathy Hensley’s never been much of a drinker. It wasn’t something that interested her very much, so it seemed unfathomable that she would ever run a winery. But after her son Eric offered her and her husband, Duke, some wine he made, it changed things.
