ANDERSON, Ind. — Liberty Christian, after winning its first boys basketball regional title last Saturday at Frankton, will head northwest again Saturday for the semistate.
The Lions (20-6) will play at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Lafayette Jefferson High School against Marquette Catholic (18-6).
The other 1A semistate will be played at Seymour as Clay City (20-6) will take on No. 1-ranked Barr-Reeve (25-1). The winner of those two Saturday games will play the following Saturday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse for the state championship.
Tickets for the Lafayette Semistate are $8 and are expected to be on sale at Liberty Christian High School this week.
The Lions are on a nine-game winning streak, not having lost since a 66-49 defeat at Frankton a month ago. Liberty has won those nine games by an average margin of 31.6 points in those games. No team has come closer than 10 points to the Lions in those past nine games.
