Proctor said he would talk to his teammates before Tuesday's first round, and he'll have a simple message for them.
“Just to stay calm, stay patient. Good things will come if you’re patient,” Proctor said.
Phillips thinks his team can be very dangerous if it plays to its capabilities, like Proctor did during his sectional medalist round and like Trevar Denney and Zach Farrer did during their surprise regional performances.
Proctor agreed, saying even though he could have a shot at the state individual title, he would rather have a slightly off day like he did Friday and watch his team carry him on to compete for the state title.
“It’s a team game right now,” Proctor said. “My goal at the beginning of the year was to go to state as a team and to contend as an individual and contend as a team so hopefully we can do that.”
The Arabians tee off between 8:27 a.m. and 9:03 a.m. at The Legends on Tuesday morning.
