— Gene and Brenda Guffey were married May 2, 1958, in Albany, Ky., with Arthur Upchurch performing the ceremony.
They will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, May 3, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Millcreek Civic Center, Indiana 32, Chesterfield. Friends of the couple are invited to attend.
Gene retired in 1993 after 33 years with General Motors and in 2006 after 12 1/2 years with UN Printing and Mailing in Carmel.
Brenda retired in 2005 from Daleville Community Schools after driving a school bus for 32 years.
They have three children, Melinda (Allan) Orebaugh of Holmen, Wis., Alisa (Rod) McPhearson of Frankton and Kevin (Dawn) Guffey of Cheyenne, Wyo.
They have six grandchildren, Aaron and Caleb Orebaugh, Dustin and Drew McPhearson, Desiree (Anthony) Smith and Shea Guffey. They have one great-grandson, Hunter Smith.
