— Harvey and Doris Rogers will celebrate their 70th anniversary on Aug. 21. Their family invites all who would like to celebrate with them to an open house on Saturday, Aug. 24, at Prairie Baptist Church from 2 to 6 p.m. No gifts, please, your presence will be a gift.
Harvey and Doris both attended Oak Grove High School in Paragould, Ark., and were married Aug. 21, 1943. They moved to Indiana in 1952.
Harvey retired from Guide Division of General Motors in 1984 and is a lifelong farmer. He still farms today. Doris is a homemaker and enjoys gardening and quilting.
Together they raised four children: Sherry, Tom, Martha and Jane. They have seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren so far.
They have been active members of Prairie Baptist Church for 60 years where they have served in many capacities including deacon and Sunday school teacher.
