Contreras-Surbaugh wedding


— Julie Elizabeth Surbaugh and Miguel Angel Contreras were united in marriage March 30, 2013, at MyMoon Restaurant in the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Emily McGrath officiated at the wedding. Friends and family from across the USA and the Dominican Republic gathered to witness the wedding and enjoy the festivities.

Julie is the daughter of Cheryl and William Surbaugh, previously of Anderson and now residents of Sister Bay, Wis. She graduated from Anderson High School as valedictorian in 1994 and then cum laude from Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., in 1998. She earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Rutgers University in 2007 and is now in private practice in Manhattan.

Miguel was born in the Dominican Republic and immigrated with his family to New York City at age 7. He graduated from John Jay College in New York City with a degree in Criminal Justice and then received his Masters in Social Work from Yeshiva University. He is currently completing his doctorate in Forensic Psychology at The Eisner Institute. He is also in private practice in Manhattan and New Jersey.

Julie and Miguel will travel to Italy and France for their honeymoon.
