Whitaker anniversary


— Bill and Willametta (Runyan) Whitaker are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary. They were married July 3, 1948, at the bride parents’ home in Elwood and headed to Niagara Falls in their maroon 1948 Chevy.

The couple have two daughters, Julie (Max) Gentry and Connie (Bill) Reding, all of Anderson. They are grandparents to Jay (Maria) Gentry of Indianapolis, Mark (Amy) Gentry of Pendleton and Jonathan Reding of Anderson. They are great-grandparents to Alexander Gentry and Allison and Mallory Gentry.

The couple are lifelong residents of Anderson.

Bill served in World War II on the USS Louisville and retired from Prairie Farms Dairy (Best Ever). He currently volunteers at Community Hospital. Willametta retired from JCPenney and was a volunteer at Community Hospital for many years.

Through the years, they have provided love, support and service to family, friends and community. The couple plans to celebrate with family.
