Cheman-Sharp engagement


— James Ty and Vivian Crim Sharp of Kilgore announce the engagement of their daughter, Mackenzie Jane Sharp, to Justin Nicholas Cheman of Kilgore, Texas. The wedding will be in San Diego, California, on March 22, 2014, at the San Diego Hilton, Mission Bay.

The future bride is a 2006 graduate of Kilgore High School. She attended North Texas University, but currently is a student at Grossmont College in San Diego, California. She is employed by Pet Smart as a certified pet trainer.

Mackenzie is the granddaughter of Dwight Owen and Melba King Crim, the late Helen Nissen Crim, all of Anderson, Indiana, and Evelyn Duchense Sharp and the late James Alcon Sharp of Carthage, Texas.

The future groom is a 2008 graduate of Kilgore High School. He entered the Navy after graduation where he is an Engineman Second Class and is currently serving on the world’s first hybrid amphibious assault ship, USS Makin Island LHD 8, home ported in San Diego, California.

Justin is the son of Tommy Cheman of Longview, Texas and the late Sherri Cheman, and the grandson of Ron and Glenda Waller of Kilgore, Texas, and Ken and Judy Cheman of Buffalo, New York.
