Irvon Plummer, formerly of Middletown, and Donna Dietz Plummer will celebrate 45 years of marriage on June 7, with family and friends in Augusta, Ga.
Irvon and Donna were married in Anderson, Ind., on June 15, 1968, by the Rev. Eldon Petry.
Irvon was valedictorian of Middletown High School in 1966, graduated from Ball State in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business. Irvon was employed in management by Pay Less Supermarket for 33 years and retired in 2000. Upon moving to Augusta, Ga., in 2000, Irvon accepted a position with Food Lion Supermarket where he is in management until this time. Irvon is a member of Fellowship Masonic Lodge, and is a Past Master in Anderson, and is a member of the Richmond Chapter of Order of Eastern Star where he is a past patron. Irvon became Santa Irvon after joining the CSRA Santa’s as well as the National Beard Santas.
Donna is the former Donna Dietz of Anderson, a graduate of Ball State with a degree in health science, as well as Saint Joseph with a degree theology. Donna retired from the Indiana State Department of Health as a Health Educator in AIDS in 1999. Donna’s working life included American Red Cross as a Health Educator in AIDS, Trinity Community Services as a counselor, and as an interpreter at Conner Prairie. In addition, Donna’s company, Party and Project Consulting, wrote grants and business plans for various non-profits and small business projects in the Anderson area from 1991 until 1999.
The couple are members of Richmond Order of Eastern Star in Augusta, Ga., Saint Mary’s on the Hill Catholic Church, are volunteers for Art in the Heart, Fort Gordon Dinner Theatre, Storyland Theatre, and the Imperial Theatre.
The couple has a son and daughter-in-law in Anderson, Bill and Rose Plummer, twin daughters living in Augusta, Donita Legoas and Kristina Istre, as well as a large chosen family: Tiffany Leons, Amy Pratt, Andrew Jones, Monty Kates and Angie Kaster. Nine grandchildren have blessed the family.
A celebration will be hosted by the couple on June 7 at the Augusta Shrine Club with family and friends. In place of gifts the couple has requested donations to Fellowship Masonic Lodge for their Santa fund, the Shrine, or Richmond Order of Eastern Star.
