Stonoff birthday

Well, what do you know, old Jim is turning 80 years old on June 27.

Don’t Worry - Be Happy Jim! Everybody doesn’t get to see 80. How fortunate you are!

Jim was born in Logan, W.Va. At a tender age of 17, he wrecked some cars (three to be exact) so he thought he’d better flee to a safe haven so he ended up in Frankfort where his brother, Bob, was attending school. After a considerable time of searching for a job, he got on at Stark Wetzel’s Meat Packing Plant. After a short time they closed down.

While in Frankfort, Jim met Jan who was from Delphi. They were married in April 1954 and moved from Frankfort to Anderson in 1957.

Jim hired on at Emge Packing Co. in Anderson and while working at Emge’s he worked part-time as a meat cutter for Guy Schoonover who owned his own business and serviced the hospital and several restaurants in town.

Jim loved to bowl, he was an avid bowler. He and his wife, Jan, bowled in several leagues and tournaments around town for several years.

Jim worked over 30 years at Emge.

Jim was always a hard worker and never missed work. He was a very good provider for his family. He has one daughter, Melinda, from Oklahoma and a son, Brad, in Middletown.

Jim and Jan attend the First Nazarene Church in Anderson. Call poor Jim and share your sympathy. He’ll love it!
