Earl Gamble of Anderson will celebrate his 100th birthday, Sunday, June 9, with an open house at First Church of the Nazarene, 2300 Jackson St., Anderson, from 2 to 4 p.m.
He was born June 12, 1913, Anderson, and was employed for 43 years at Anaconda Wire & Cable.
He married Ruth (Pittman) Gamble on April 25, 1936. She died June 26, 1996. They have one son, David (wife, Jane) of Santa Fe, N.M.
Gamble served in the armed forces of World War II, First U.S. Army as a surgical technician in the medical detachment of the 14th AAA Gun Battalion in the European Theater of Operations. He has been a faithful Christian for 75 years, a Bible scholar Sunday school teacher for many years.
Family and friends are welcome to attend. Please omit gifts, but a card and written remembrance would be appreciated.
