Robert E. “Bob” and Donetta (Adams) Harmon of Lapel celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on March 15.
The couple, who previously resided in Anderson, began dating in November of 1948 and attended Anderson High School, where they were high school sweethearts. They attend Mounds Baptist Church.
Bob retired from Guide Division of General Motors, where he was a toolmaker for 43 years. Donetta was a homemaker and a stay-at-home mother to their two children, Robert W. Harmon (deceased) and Deetta (Chris) Steinmetz of Fishers. They have four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
They have enjoyed square, round and ballroom dancing together throughout their years of marriage. Fittingly, they spent the evening of their anniversary at the Elks in Anderson where they danced with their fellow dancers and friends, and were joined by their daughter, Deetta, and her family.
