Alexandria is full of caring people
There are good people left in this world! As most know, a tragic fire claimed the lives of a mother, father, and two of their young children. I wanted to write this letter to thank everyone for their support during this tragic time in the lives of the Williams/Tracy family.
As the social worker at Alexandria Monroe Elementary School, I wanted to do whatever I could to help this family, so I decided to set up a “hat day” fundraiser. From this one fundraiser alone, nearly $2,000 was raised.
I’d like to thank the spectacular parents, students, and staff for this success. Church Street Commons and Fred DeVoe Chevrolet also contributed.
I’d also like to thank the numerous staff members, and parents who have donated clothing, toys, etc. for the two surviving children.
Times like this have proven that Alexandria really can be a great place to live. This community has really come together and done everything possible to help this family.
