Immigration story ignores issues

This letter is in response to the article “Illegal Immigration, Race or Economics,” that was published April 22 as part of a series on intolerance.

The article assumes that the controversy over illegal immigration is primarily racial. It gives brief lip service to some economic factors but does not scratch the surface of these concerns and completely ignores other issues such as human trafficking, exploitation of the poor, corporate greed, loss of middle-class jobs, increased taxation in order to provide benefits to people who have not contributed, as well as health, education and welfare concerns, etc.

This is good reporting? This is the best The Herald Bulletin has to offer? I surely hope not. If it is, then perhaps the newspaper should look at its own intolerance.
