Breaking News:  Two reported hurt in Miami mall shooting  December 01, 2008 12:52 pm

McCain no longer a political maverick

In 2000, John McCain was a maverick, but since then he has voted with Bush 90-95 percent of the time. He was against the Bush tax cuts for the rich, but his wife reminded him that she is rich, so now he is for those same tax cuts. With six condos to keep up and a wife who once charged $750,000 in one month, he’s all for the tax breaks. His wife is worth more than $100 million, so how can he relate to the working man’s plights? He is Bush in an old man’s body.

His campaign is made up of high-paid lobbyists and he was one of the “Keating Five” who told investigators to back off his friend Keating. That cost taxpayers over $3 billion, and he has been thick as thieves with lobbyists every since. Those who complain that Obama will not take taxpayers’ money for the election don’t want to mention the fact that Obama does not take money from PACs or lobbyists!

There is some good news coming from McCain’s top economic adviser, Phil Gramm, who said that we are just going through a “mental recession” and we have “become a nation of whiners.” They have no idea what it is to lose your job, your home and your health insurance during this “mental recession.” I’m sure that it will also be a comfort to all of those who have to choose between a gallon of gas or a gallon of milk.
