I wanted to take a moment to address the idea of a smoking ordinance in Anderson.

When Delaware County enacted its ordinance, my husband and I stopped going there to eat and enjoy the nightlife. Same with Marion County. If Anderson follows suit, rest assured that I will no longer patronize any Anderson business that was forced into complying. Currently, I no longer patronize any establishment that has voluntarily gone smoke-free.

If the ban is made more comprehensive, and is extended to include the casino, I will never return to the casino again.

Does this make a difference? Well, it might not to some, but if all smokers did this, I’m sure businesses would feel the pinch.

Recent changes in the Allen County (Fort Wayne) ordinance have forced many businesses to go out of business, simply because they can no longer allow smoking.

Mr. Faunce, I’d like to sign your petition and offer a resounding “YES” to it.
