Thanks go to Bob Ivy for his recent letter to the editor on responsibility with grocery carts. Many times, I have thought all stores, like Aldi’s, should rent them out for 25 cents. I keep a quarter in my car for that purpose.

To go a bit further, I would ask that all shoppers remove sales fliers from their cart with their groceries. The wind catches the fliers and they are blown all over the parking area, making it look very messy. Some stores do have employees who collect the carts. I’m sure the employees would be more useful sacking groceries and re-stocking shelves. Mayor Kevin Smith was very good about keeping Anderson clean; I’m hoping Mayor Ockomon will.

Finally, I would like to thank the White River Watchers for cleaning the river and its banks. They do a great job. Come on, Anderson, let’s get behind them and do our part.
