Breaking News:  Two reported hurt in Miami mall shooting  December 01, 2008 12:52 pm

NAFTA making us second-rate nation

Isn’t it sad that the men and women who fought, served and died in World War II and wars that followed, for the greatest country in the world, now, 60 years later, no longer own this country? An American icon, Budweiser, now belongs to Germany. The Russians just bought a steel company up north. How often are calls received from someone in India or elsewhere, trying to sell something, and the caller can barely speak English? Try to purchase something that’s not made in China or another foreign country. Whatever happened to “Made in the U.S.A.?”

Remember when gasoline prices were much lower and we only had four automobile manufacturers from which to choose? Now, there are at least 15 car types, most from other countries, and the profits return to those countries. My friends who fought in the Korean War call KIA the “Killed in Action” car. NAFTA is killing America.

At this rate, in 25 years, we are going to be a second-rate nation. It’s our fault, because we only vote for people who take care of the wealthy and send all of our jobs out of the country. Isn’t it sad?
