Vectren Source is a nonprofit affiliate of Vectren Energy Delivery, the natural gas delivery company in this area. Their proposed service is not administrated by Vectren but by Nicor Services in Illinois. If all 534,000 customers of Vectren North’s district chose to join this gas line Comfort Guard Insurance Program, at $60 per year, it would equate to a cost to gas customers of over $30 million annually, going directly to Vectren and only covering up to $600 in repairs.

Vectren Utility Company is continually sending some type of request to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission to monetarily increase their bottom line. They have little or no regard for the impact on consumers. Repairs resulting from fires and/or explosions due to natural gas leaks usually cost many times more than $600. If you deposited $60 annually in a bank account, in just 10 years, you would have more than $600. The point is, just look in the Yellow Pages and locate your own repair service, and call them if you ever need them. If you have agreed to accept Vectren’s foolish offer, cancel it now!
