Letter: Ten police cars excessive for small town

With all that is going on with Chesterfield police, perhaps someone should take a look at why Chesterfield has 10-plus police cars, and a tactical command trailer parked at Makepeace Park. All of this for a town less than 2 miles wide, two stop lights, and 7,500 residents. All of this had to be approved by the Town Council who is passing the cost on to taxpayers. Based on this ratio how many cars would Anderson have, 500, 1,000? Perhaps the town council is involved more than we all know.
