Who are the real deserters?

I just read that Army desertion rates are up 80 percent. The claim is that our military is stressed out.

I agree. But I think the stress is not because of the enemy in Iraq. It is from the enemy at home.

Would you want to put your life on the line for the ilk of Senator Harry Reid, who has declared the war unwinnable? How about an ex-president who tells the enemy we made a mistake?

How about Murtha, who refused to apologize for calling our soldiers murderers, even after it was proven untrue? How about the “hit job” on General Petraeus, who was called a traitor and a liar even before he reported on the war?

How about the anti-war movies, showing our brave men as rapists and murderers? How about an agenda-driven media that reports only negatives?

How about a political party that puts the next election ahead of the lives of our young people? How about ego-driven celebrities who attack our military whenever there is a microphone handy?

The reasons our military personnel are stressed could go on and on. I’m not sure who the real deserters are! It seems we deserted them before they deserted the Army! When 80+ percent of the country was behind the war effort, and it was helpful to their careers, these turncoats were our soldiers’ “best friends!”
