In Wednesday’s Herald Bulletin "Our View" is information on putting in an earlier warning system by adding railroad signals at 29th and 38th streets. They make it sound like such a new and wonderful idea now costing $380,000. Nothing new about that idea. Those of us who live on MLK suggested that years ago when they were planning the new and improved raceway, I mean boulevard, from I-69 to downtown! The late Bob Walbridge, if memory serves me correct, even offered to help with that.
Isn't it amazing that was not important then, with Guide still open, and could have been done during construction for much less, is so important now.
But who knows, it may even save a life someday. With all the crazy turnarounds we see out our windows, I'm surprised that terrible accident hasn't already happened.
