Letter: Let's demand transparency at meetings

The Herald Bulletin

---- — In Madison County, the elected seldom if ever hold meetings at a time citizens can attend, choosing instead, to pass laws and change how citizen interacts with different departments without ever seeking citizen input.

This election cycle we should demand the candidates pledge to make themselves available to the public, to hold meetings at a time citizens can attend, allow citizen input before making decisions affecting citizens. With few exceptions the Madison County political scene lacks this commitment and it is evident in Madison County government, by both parties.( Seems to be a 180-degree difference in the elected when press is present). If we can get our county to be responsive, it can carry over to state and nation, maybe return all level of government to a government, of the people, by the people and for the people.
