Letter: Elwood police shouldn't stop investigations

I read in the newspaper where the prosecutor wants the police to quit investigating the mayor's family in Elwood. How does he figure that investigating a crime is investigating a family?

The crime against this child has nothing to do with the mayor's office. When the state police investigated the park superintendent did that have anything to do with the family?Just because a crime is allegedly committed by one person in the family and that person is being investigated by a real police force, don't you think they are doing their job, or would you like them to ignore the facts because of the family name or position.

This child is a person and it should have someone looking out for him or her. Thank you to the police force in Elwood.Vearl BeckhamAnderson
