Letter: Local gas prices exceed other counties'

The Herald Bulletin

---- — Why are the people in Madison County a prisoner of greed? Fed up yet?

I'm all for free enterprise but when it comes to these gas prices in Madison County it comes close to thievery. For months on end Madison County has had the highest gas prices compared to surrounding counties, such as Marion, Delaware, Tipton and the list goes on and on.

Why are we subjected to higher prices? It can't be logistics, and it can't be taxes, then what is it? I think greed! The solution in my mind is to stop buying gas in Madison County. I know it would be a little inconvenient, but if the people would start taking their hard-earned working money outside of the county for gas, convenience items, and other shopping needs, somebody might wake up. Trust me, it will hurt these companies' bottom line more than yours. I just think a better playing field is in order.

Be competitive, whereas the people in Anderson and Madison County would not have to shop in surrounding counties for their needs. We need competitive business here.
