The Girl Scouts of Central Madison County would like to thank the local Coca-Cola Distribution Center for their wonderful support.
On April 7, Charles Foster closed the plant for the day, bringing 40 employees out to Camp Tanglewood. They donated manpower and supplies to help renovate the camp to make it more accessible, usable, and safe for all who choose to use it. They made benches for all of the camp units that did not yet have seating; repaired, mulched and graveled the trails and camp units.
They did even more repairs to the trails, a bridge making it safer to walk across, they repaired the Adirondacks (lean-to structures).
Four new camp units were created to make a total of nine units so that even more Girl Scouts can experience the outdoors at once. All camp units are now safe and blend in with the nature around them.
The Distribution Center also gave money for rent so that girls can enjoy the camp for yet another year. This just comes to show the importance of supporting local businesses and how local businesses can give back.
We are extremely grateful for their diligence, attitude, and help. They have no idea how much their work will be appreciated by present and future campers.
