We must promote the 2014 primary election. In this regard I believe the concerned citizens need to give a big thank-you to the promoters of the meet-and-greet at Alexandria-Monroe High School on April 16.
As, if not more important, is coverage by THB reporter Zach Osowski.
In my opinion, if we are to have good government at all levels, the press must take the lead, reporting is essential.
Since February 2010, the Tea Party of Madison County has hosted more than 100 elected and those seeking election of all parties. Among those speaking at tea party meetings this year, but not reported by the press, are all three Republican and one Democrat sheriff candidates, two Republicans and one Democrat; 5th congressional district candidates, Indiana state senator and state representative (R), many of the (R) candidates seeking county offices of clerk, commissioner, treasurer, recorder and council. The chairmen of both parties know of the invitation open to all candidates.
Government starts with the election. Good government requires citizen involvement and it is the press's duty to encourage; both are seriously missing. You can hear and be heard the second, third and fourth Thursdays every month in Madison County. Check local listing of monthly tea party meetings, attend, find out what many of your friends know.
