Volunteers turn out for CARE Day
Saturday, May 17, was the annual Alexandria CARE Day. This has been a spring tradition for the past 30 years. Volunteers numbering 150 people helped to do some spring cleaning around the community. They picked up trash, planted flowers, swept sidewalks, painted fire hydrants, etc. around the downtown and along State Road 9. The community was filled with great pride as these volunteers helped to make Alexandria beautiful.
This year the CARE Day project received a large donation from Casey’s General Store to help with purchasing supplies. Their generous contribution will help in the years to come.
We would like to thank the many businesses, groups, organizations and individuals for their contributions in making CARE Day once again a huge success.
