---- — Weather threat didn’tdeter Elwood crowd
Semi-scary wind didn’t dampen the spirits of music lovers who came to groove to The Graveyard Stompers on June 23. What a great day of 1970/’80s music. Thanks to the Reichart family who sponsored the day in loving memory of Fran and Ernie Reichart; to all our volunteers who helped with programs, free tickets for the door prizes and popped lots of fresh, hot popcorn and kept the soft drinks and water icy; local businesses for publicity and post show pictures and especially all those who donated to make this concert and the season possible. Local businesses provided door prizes for the day.
The concert season would not be the same without all the help from our community. Make plans now to join us on Thursday, July 4, at 4 p.m. for Mix Factory (rock favorites) and at 6:30 for Quincy’s Brass (’60s through ‘90s) who will play up to the Optimist firework display. All the music is sponsored by the Dunnichay family. Taylor’s Ice Cream will provide some ice cream treats for our lucky “picnic” people. How much fun can we have? Plan on spending the day to find out. We’ll keep the dance floor swept and we’ve requested no rain, but we’re ready, no matter what. The sun is always shining and the breeze is always pleasant at the park. See you at Callaway Park.
