Letter: AHS band has a winning future

A big congratulations to the Anderson High School band for a great show at the Indiana State Fair Band Day competition. The top four bands' shows were all so good, that I thought it was a bit of a tough call.

AHS is fortunate to have Brad Milleman and Myron Taylor. What a great job you guys are doing. Keep up the good work. I believe another state championship is in AHS' near future. To the kids in the band: It takes discipline, teamwork, dependability, a positive attitude and responsibility to build a winning band program. You are all to be highly commended. Stay with the program throughout your high school experience. It takes the leadership and experience of upperclassmen to set a good example for underclassmen, and to maintain a winning program.

Band parents and staff deserve a big round of applause for their dedication, hard work and commitment to the band. As former active band parents, we know the importance of your involvement.

I really like the classy way the Anderson band plays as they are marching onto the competition area. Please, don't ever change that. Once again, terrific job, AHS band! You made your school and community very proud.

Gary Ferguson

  • Letter: Constitution, laws being trampled Nancy Pelosi said, "When it comes to protecting the children I'm a lioness!" Too bad that doesn't include the babies who are ripped from the womb. How ironic to hear the progressive liberals talk of compassion for illegals while killing our own.
