ELWOOD - Six Elwood teens face charges in connection with a sexual assault at the Elwood High School on May 17.
According to a statement released Thursday by Elwood Police Chief Jason Brizendine, the teens arrested ranged in age from 15 to 18.
Kevin Horseman, 18, is among them and is charged with criminal confinement and battery.
The teens allegedly held down another male juvenile and placed their buttocks in his face. Horseman, police said, allegedly forced his genitals onto the victim’s face.
The names of the juvenile offenders are not being released.
Three teens ages 15, 16 and 17 are being charged with criminal confinement and battery. Two teens, 15 and 17 years old, are being charged with aiding or inducing criminal confinement and battery.
All teens involved in the assault are male.
Elwood Community Schools Superintendent Tom Austin is not commenting on the situation, but said the students involved are being disciplined according to board policy.
He would not discuss the possibility for suspension or expulsion regarding the incident.
The Herald Bulletin attempted to contact Brizendine, but calls weren’t returned.
