STRAWTOWN — Police have identified the driver who died in a crash in Strawtown on Tuesday as Jewel McCord, 65, of Chesterfield.
Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputy Vicky Dunbar said McCord was killed when her 2003 Infiniti collided with a dump truck filled with sand along Indiana 37 just before 2:45 p.m.
McCord apparently failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign at Indiana 37 and Strawtown Road.
She was declared dead at the scene. David Clark, 51, of Westfield, was driving the dump truck and suffered only minor injuries.
Strawtown is in Hamilton County.
Forrest Fairchild, an Anderson resident, witnessed the crash and believes it may have been caused by blind spots in the intersection where the crash occurred.
