9:13 p.m.: Man who died in shed fire ID'd

— ANDERSON — A man who died early Friday of smoke inhalation inside a burning shed has been identified as David C. Heaton, 53, Anderson.
Funeral arrangements for Heaton are pending through Robert Loose Funeral Home, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
While the funeral home has identified Heaton, investigators have not formally named Heaton as the man found inside the burning shed behind 2408 E. Sixth St. They were expecting to confirm the identify through the use of dental records.
Ermal Allen, an investigator with the Madison County Coroner’s Office, previously said authorities believe the 53-year-old man died of smoke inhalation. An autopsy was performed Friday at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. The autopsy report won’t be complete for about two weeks when officials have toxicology test results.
Allen said Friday investigators didn’t believe there was an foul play connected to the death.
In a news release, Anderson Police Detective Mitch Carroll said firefighters were called to the home shortly before 4:30 a.m. Friday, after several neighbors reported a shed on fire behind the residence.
Anderson firefighters had the flames quickly under control, but investigators were called to the scene when the body, suspected of being one of the home’s owners, was discovered inside the building, Carroll said in the release.
Fire officials weren’t available for comment late Saturday, and it wasn’t immediately known what sparked the blaze.
