MUNCIE, Ind. — A wallaby missing for more than two weeks might have been spotted in a Muncie neighborhood.
Julie Halteman says she saw a strange creature, like a small kangaroo, hop past the window of her son’s bedroom Monday morning. She told The Star Press she didn’t know what it was until her father suggested it might be the 3-year-old wallaby, named Sydney, that has been missing since June 20 from the nearby town of Gaston.
Sydney’s owner Carolyn Buck came out to search for the wallaby after Halteman called, but had no luck. Buck says Sydney will be difficult to catch and will likely need to be trapped in a garage or shed.
