ROCKVILLE, Ind. — Authorities are searching for a woman convicted of murder who escaped from the state prison in Rockville.

A prison spokeswoman says 29-year-old Sarah Pender could not be found following a routine check Monday afternoon at the Rockville Correctional Facility.

Pender is from Nineveh, Indiana, and was convicted of murder in Marion County.

Authorities describe Pender as white, 5 feet 8 inches tall, medium build with brown hair and blue eyes. She has a target tattoo on her upper right leg and a faded butterfly tattoo on her chest.
