Tiffany J. Morgan, 22, Indianapolis, was arrested at Pendleton Correctional Facility Tuesday and faces preliminary charges of attempting to traffic a controlled substance with an offender (a Class C felony), possession of marijuana of more than 30 Grams (a Class D Felony), and Class A misdemeanors for trafficking in tobacco and trafficking in rolling papers, according to a facility press release.
According to Superintendent Brett Mize, at approximately 2:40 p.m. during the visitor search process, Morgan was found to be in possession of approximately 82 grams of marijuana and 82 grams of tobacco.
She was taken into custody by Indiana State Trooper Andy Sparks and transported to the Madison County Jail.
Morgan was attempting to visit Matthew Dearinger, 24 of Franklin. Dearinger is serving a five-year sentence out of Johnson County on a charge of forgery. He was admitted to the Pendleton Correctional Facility on Dec. 6, 2006, and has a projected release date of Feb. 19, 2010. Dearinger has been placed under investigation by facility internal affairs staff.
