The Pendleton license branch changed locations Tuesday from 753 E. Water St. to 129 S. Pendleton Ave.
Ron Stiver, commissioner of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, officially opened the new location. He said the BMV has improved its operations. For example, he noted, the average wait time for customers is eight minutes, down from 28 minutes two years ago.
“With our new Pendleton branch, and a committed team, I expect service to improve even further for our Madison County customers,” he said.
The branch location change made use of empty space in Pendleton.
“I am also pleased that through the re-use of this vacated retail space, we can be part of the continuing redevelopment for downtown Pendleton,” Stiver said.
