Arrest Log: April 22

ANDERSON, Ind. — Arrests made by Madison County law enforcement on Saturday and Sunday, based on Madison County Jail records. Charges are recommended by arresting officers, but are not final until the Madison County prosecutor reviews the case and files official charges.

Madison County sheriff’s deputies arrested Jason A. Baker, 42, of the 2600 block of East Eighth Street, Anderson, at 12:27 p.m. Saturday. Bond was set at $20,000 on a charge of Class B felony burglary.

Madison County sheriff’s deputies arrested Amber L. Ford, 27, of the 1100 block of Indian Mound Boulevard, Anderson, at 2:58 p.m. Saturday. Bond was set at $3,000 on charges of Class A misdemeanor driving while suspended with a prior, Class B misdemeanor operator never licensed and a hold for another jurisdiction.

Anderson police arrested Ricky J. Ruff, 49, of the 600 block of Main Street, Anderson, at 4:03 p.m. Saturday. Bond was set at $20,000 on a charge of Class B felony robbery.

Madison County sheriff’s deputies arrested Shane M. Ruble, 23, of the 5700 block of North County Road 1000 West, Farmland, at 5:18 p.m. Saturday. Ruble posted a bail bond of $10,000 on a charge of Class D felony theft.

Anderson police arrested John R. Steele, 24, of the 2800 block of Jefferson Street, Anderson, at 8 p.m. Saturday. No bond was set on a charge of Class D felony violation of in home detention.

Madison County sheriff’s deputies arrested Krystal A. Teasley, 31, of the 2800 block of Lamper Lane, Anderson, at 10 p.m. Saturday. No bond was set on a charge of Class C felony violation of probation.

Anderson police arrested Christopher T. Woods, 18, of the 1300 block of South Madison Avenue, Anderson, at 10:07 p.m. Saturday. No bond was set on charges of Class A misdemeanor battery with no or minor injury and Class A misdemeanor criminal mischief.

Anderson police arrested Joe N. Butler, 53, of the 2700 block of Oaklawn Drive, Anderson, at 2:07 a.m. Sunday. No bond was set on a charge of Class A misdemeanor battery with no or minor injury.

Madison County sheriff’s deputies arrested Daniel K. Sloan Jr., 24, of the 400 block of East County Road 300 North, Anderson, at 5:10 a.m. Sunday. Bond was set at $5,000 on a charge of Class A misdemeanor operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Elwood police arrested Shane M. Frye, 31, of the 400 block of North Sixth Street, Elwood, at 5:15 a.m. Sunday. Frye posted a $5,000 bail bond on charges of Class A misdemeanor driving a vehicle while intoxicated and Class B misdemeanor public intoxication.

Anderson police arrested Marzell Stennis II, 22, of the 2700 block of West 12th Street, Anderson, at 5:45 a.m. Sunday. Bond was set at $5,000 on charges of Class D felony residential entry, Class A misdemeanor invasion of privacy and Class B misdemeanor invasion of privacy.

Edgewood police arrested Samuel J. Musselman, 24, of the 18000 block of Promise Road, Noblesville, at 5:53 a.m. Sunday. Bond was set at $5,000 on charges of Class D felony operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a previous conviction and Class A misdemeanor operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person.

    DEVELOPING: City officials and police officers announced this evening that a man is in custody under suspicion of murdering his sister-in-law. George A. Knotts Sr., of Elwood, faces preliminary charges of murder, strangulation, criminal confinement and aggravated battery in connection to the homicide of 66-year-old Linda Speer, who was found dead in her home Tuesday night.

Martin’s remains were returned to Elwood after being flown back to Indiana from Alaska, where he was killed during the Korean War when the C-124 Globemaster he was riding in crashed into a mountain while traveling to an Air Force base near Anchorage.

    The ex-husband of an Elwood woman who was found dead on Tuesday said he hadn't spoken to the woman in years, but he can't imagine why anyone would've wanted her dead. Linda Speer, 66, was found in her home in the 1800 block of North C Street in Elwood by her daughter late Tuesday night.

  • City to demolish 14 houses Three years after the Anderson Police Department discovered 19 dogs and nine cats filling a home on Kerrwood Drive, the structure is being demolished. The house at 2025 Kerrwood Drive is one of 14 in poor condition that the Anderson Board of Public Safety voted to demolish using federal grant funds.
