Local Briefs: Feb. 15

Post offices closed Monday for Presidents Day

INDIANAPOLIS — On Monday, the U.S. Postal Service will observe the federal holiday honoring the first president of the United States, George Washington. The holiday is commonly referred to as Presidents Day.

All post offices in Indiana will be closed and there will be no mail delivery or retail service on this day.

Family movie night at Ovid Community Church

ANDERSON — Families are invited to Ovid Community Church, 793 E. 600S, Anderson for a family movie night on Saturday, Feb. 22. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and last until 9 p.m., welcoming families of all ages.

The featured movie is "Rio." There is an entry cost of $5 per family. The event includes pizza and drinks.

Adams Township Advisory board to meet

MARKLEVILLE — Adams Township Advisory Board will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Adams Markleville Fire Territory fire station, 7457 S. 200E, Markleville.

The agenda will be the annual report and general business.

Civil War Roundtable discussion Monday

ANDERSON — The February meeting of the Madison County Historical Society Civil War Roundtable will be held on Monday at 7 p.m. at the Madison County History Center, 15 W. 11th St., Anderson.

The meeting will be a continuation of the DVD series that the group has been viewing. The subject will be "Early Union Triumphs in the West."
