More meal vouchers available in April
ANDERSON — The Touchpoint A’la Carte, Senior Meal Vouchers that are distributed at the Community Hospital Anderson Education Center have all been distributed for the month of March.
The next distribution date is Wednesday, April 3 at 10 a.m. at the Community Anderson Education Center, 1923 N. Madison Ave. For more information on this program call 298-2533.
Second Harvest Tailgate Friday
ANDERSON — Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana will provide food for families in need at a Tailgate distribution on Friday at the old Delco Remy Plant 18, 2900 S. Scatterfield Road.
The Tailgate will take place in the parking area on the north side of the building. Distribution will be from noon to 2 p.m. while supplies last. For traffic control participants are asked to not line up before 11 a.m. Limit of three families per vehicle.

IU Health/Ball host blood drive
MUNCIE — Indiana University Health/Ball Memorial Hospital will host a blood drive in partnership with the Indiana Blood Center from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday in the South Tower Atrium.
Participants may log on to donorpoint.org to make an appointment. Donors should bring photo identification and should have a light snack prior to donating. Juice and cookies will be provided at the donation site.
Participation takes less than one hour and a cholesterol, blood pressure, blood type and iron check are included in the donation process.
Postal rally Sunday
INDIANAPOLIS — Concerned citizens of Indiana will rally Sunday to protect Saturday mail delivery and demand that Congress deliver a better plan to strengthen the Postal Service for the future. The rally will take place at 125 W. South St. at the Downtown Main Post Office at 1 p.m. in downtown Indianapolis.

Crime Watch group meets
ANDERSON — East Side Crime Watch group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the East Side Church of God in the parlor, 2600 E. 5th St. This group includes the neighborhoods of North Anderson, Highland Heights and Park Place.

Carmichael’s former home damaged
BLOOMINGTON — The one-time home of Indiana-born composer and band leader Hoagy Carmichael has been damaged by a fire.
The man who owns the Bloomington house where Carmichael once lived hasn’t decided whether the house will be razed or repaired following last week’s fire. Homeowner Eric Terhorst tells The Herald-Times he wasn’t aware the house had a connection to Carmichael.
Carmichael was born in Bloomington in 1899 and went on to write “Stardust,” ‘’Georgia on My Mind,” ‘’Old Buttermilk Sky” and other songs. He died in 1981.
