Police: Gasoline accidentally thrown on toddler

ANDERSON — Police are investigating an incident Thursday night where gasoline was accidentally thrown on a toddler.

The incident happened at about 6 p.m. in the 2800 block of Walton Street. According to Anderson Police Department spokesman Detective Joel Sandefur, a man threw a gasoline can through a window of the home, intending to hit a woman. The gasoline instead fell onto a two-year-old child.

Few details were available at time of print, but medics were dispatched to the scene to take the child to a hospital. No word on the child's well-being was available.

Sandefur said the case is being investigated, but at least a charge of criminal recklessness could be pending.
