ANDERSON, Ind. — A 45-year-old Anderson man severely injured in a motorcycle accident Sunday is recovering at an Indianapolis area hospital, police said.

Michael Boyer suffered severe head trauma and was airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital, police said. A condition report was not available Monday.

The crash occurred about 3:40 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Scatterfield Road, when Boyer’s motorcycle collided with a Chevrolet Trailblazer operated by Keith D. Norris, said police spokesman Detective Joel Sandefur.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Sandefur said Boyer was not wearing a helmet.
