Anderson company buys Aspen Creek restaurants

ANDERSON — A local company has purchased two Aspen Creek restaurants in Kentucky and Texas.

Ultra Steak Inc. of Anderson purchased the Aspen Creek restaurants and assumed the rights to the restaurant branding.

Ultra Steak, which specializes in restaurant management, is a franchise partner of Texas Roadhouse and is headquartered at 33 W. 10th St. in Anderson.

Specific terms of the sale were not disclosed, but Ultra Steak, which owns the Texas Roadhouse at 2115 Scatterfield Road, exchanged two of its franchised Texas Roadhouses in Ohio as part of the agreement.

The Ohio restaurants sold by Ultra Steak were located in Hilliard and Polaris.

Texas Roadhouse, based in Louisville, Ky., sold the Aspen Creek restaurants in Louisville, Ky., and Irving, Texas, as part of the transaction with Ultra Steak.

In a press release by the company, Steve Madinger, CEO of Ultra Steak, said the company had owned the Ohio locations for more than 12 years.

“It was difficult to give up great management teams and two Texas Roadhouse restaurants that have been our anchor in Ohio, but we are very excited about the acquisition of Aspen Creek,” Madinger said in the release.

Joel Ross, president of Ultra Steak, said the Aspen Creek restaurant is a proven brand in Texas and the Midwest.

“This brand with its made-from-scratch menu and full service offering provides Ultra Steak with another quality concept to grow,” Ross said in the company’s press release.
