Israel trip meeting set for Sept. 29

ANDERSON — Next fall, a Madison County pastor will lead a 10-day tour to Israel. On Sunday, Sept. 29, at 6 p.m. an informational meeting for the public is planned at Ovid Community Church, 793 E. 600S.

Senior Pastor Keith Wooden and wife Delaine will depart on Sept. 19, 2014, as leaders of a Holy Land tour.

In 2012, the Woodens received a Clergy Renewal Lilly Sabbatical Grant allowing them to follow Apostle Paul’s footsteps by touring Italy, Jordan, Israel, Turkey and Greece.

The Woodens invite anyone interested to join them. This pilgrimage currently consists of 30 people raging from ages 16 to 91. There is room for 42.

The group will visit Jerusalem’s Temple Wall to experience worship with Messianic Jews at the King of kings Church in Jerusalem. They will walk along the Via Dolorosa, share communion at the Garden Tomb, take a cruise on the Sea of Galilee, see Nazareth and Bethlehem, be baptized in the Jordan River (if desired), visit Masada EinGedi and the shore of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Also, the group will experience an authentic Middle Eastern meal and get to ride a camel at Abraham’s tent.
