Frankton to consider fire fees
FRANKTON — The Frankton Town Board will hold a special meeting at 108 E. Sigler St., in the police department conference room at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

Tree sale Saturday for conservation district

Gospel artist Taylor at local church

Ind. 32 closing Tuesday at crossing
ANDERSON — The Indiana Department of Transportation will close Ind. 32 just east of John Street/Fairview Street at the 104.5 mile marker for one week beginning Tuesday, Oct. 22. Norfolk Southern plans to replace the rail crossing during the closure period.
An official detour routes traffic on Ind. 9, I-69, Ind. 38 and Ind. 13. The closure begins at 8 a.m. Tuesday. It continues through the following Wednesday, Oct. 30, or until crews finish refurbishing the crossing.
Presentation offered on asthma and allergies
PENDLETON — St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital will offer a free educational presentation about allergies and asthma triggers. The session, conducted by a certified asthma educator, will be at the Pendleton YMCA, 6511 S. Ind. 67, at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22.

AHS to honor veterans at convocation
ANDERSON — Anderson High School, 4610 Madison Ave., will hold its yearly Veterans' Day Convocation on Nov. 11 to honor veterans and active service military members. The convocation will be held in the gymnasium at 9:30 a.m. with guest speaker Eric Creviston. The convocation is open to the public.

Frankton reschedules Nov. 11 meetings
FRANKTON — Due to Veterans Day on Nov. 11, the town of Frankton has rescheduled the Planning Commission meeting for Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 5 p.m., and the Town Council meeting at 6 p.m., at 108 E. Sigler St. in the police department conference room.
Hospital disrupted as package cleared
INDIANAPOLIS — Several hundred patients and workers were evacuated from parts of a veterans hospital in Indianapolis until emergency crews determined a suspicious package posed no threat.
The alert at the Roudebush Veterans Affairs Medical Center was lifted nearly three hours after the package was reported about 8 a.m. Friday. Some patients wrapped themselves in blankets as they stood outside the hospital near the city's downtown on a cool morning, while authorities said other people were moved to parts of the hospital away from where the package was found.
